Freie Waldorfschule Wien-West Vienna Austria
The most important elements of Rudolf Steiner’s Waldorf education are role models and imitation as a principle of learning, rhythm and repetition to strengthen the vital forces, as well as diverse sensory care to stimulate the healthy development of the body.
In our kindergarten there are three mixed-age groups for children from the age of three, as well as an afternoon group from 13h, which is made up of children from the three groups.
The offer ranges from free play, singing, storytelling and drama games, fairy tales, puppet shows, eurythmy, handicrafts and works, preparation of organic snacks, to fun games in our large, largely natural garden. In addition, there is once a week a forest day, painting with watercolor paints and a eurythmy unit (art of movement). For our preschool children we offer a
“preschool class” in school and a eurythmy class, as well as a special handicraft project in the morning group, which will be worked on for many weeks.
The Free Waldorf School Vienna West is based on an innovative concept that combines the proven principles of Waldorf education with the advantages of an internationally recognized university entrance qualification, the International Baccalaureate® (IB®).
The curriculum of the Waldorf schools is based on Rudolf Steiner’s general anthropology. The lessons are held in all grades in epochs. The class teacher ideally leads the class from the 1st to the 8th class and then hands over his / her pupils to the colleagues of the senior level team.
